About Peerloom

Built by students who were tired of losing good study conversations in group-chat chaos.

Peerloom turns WhatsApp-style study groups into structured academic spaces — course-organized discussions, quizzes with real integrity monitoring, shared resources, and an AI study partner, all in one place.

Our story

Peerloom started with a simple, familiar frustration: every course had a WhatsApp group, and every WhatsApp group eventually turned into a wall of memes, forwarded messages, and a single pinned PDF nobody could find again the night before an exam.

Lecturers weren't much better served. Sharing a quiz meant a Google Form with no real way to know if a student had three tabs open next to it, and grading meant scrolling through a spreadsheet export with no context on where students were actually struggling.

We built Peerloom to close that gap — a platform that treats a course group as more than a chat thread: it's quizzes with genuine integrity monitoring, resources that stay organized by course, results a lecturer can actually act on, and an AI assistant that understands the difference between a casual question and an exam-week emergency.

The result is a platform students actually want to use, and lecturers can actually rely on.

What we're building

Three pillars, one platform

Everything on Peerloom is designed around how academic groups actually work — together, not in silos.

Structured collaboration

Groups organized by course and cohort, with chat, resources, and announcements that stay where students expect to find them — not buried in scrollback.

Assessment you can trust

Quizzes with attempt limits, deadlines, and an integrity log that tracks tab switches and copy/paste activity, so results mean what they say.

AI that's actually useful

PeerPal AI helps explain concepts and prepare for exams inside the same space students already study in, instead of another app to context-switch to.

Leadership

Founded by people who lived the problem

Peerloom is built by Peerloom Technologies Limited, led by:

CA
Mr. Charles K.O Atta
Founder & CEO

Charles founded Peerloom to fix a problem he ran into constantly as a student: academic conversations scattered across chat apps never built for coursework. He leads product direction and the company's long-term vision, with a focus on building tools that hold up under real classroom conditions — not just demo conditions.

PA
Mr. Phillip Amezuweh
Co-founder

Phillip co-founded Peerloom and helps shape how the platform is built and operated day to day, working closely on the experience students and lecturers rely on every term — from onboarding a new class to getting a quiz live in minutes.

What we believe

The principles behind every decision

01

Structure beats volume

A well-organized group of ten messages beats a chaotic one of ten thousand. We design for findability first.

02

Integrity isn't optional

An assessment tool that can't be trusted isn't useful to anyone. We treat academic integrity as core infrastructure, not a feature flag.

03

Built with real users

Every feature on Peerloom exists because a student or lecturer described a real problem to us — not because it looked good on a roadmap.

04

Respect people's time

Whether it's a lecturer grading a hundred submissions or a student prepping the night before an exam, we design to save minutes, not just add features.

How it works

From a course roster to a working quiz in minutes

Peerloom is designed so a lecturer can go from "I need a group for this course" to a graded quiz without fighting the tool along the way.

Step 1

Create a course group

A lecturer creates a group for a course or cohort, sets the institution and course code, and shares an invite — students join in seconds.

Step 2

Organize the space

Chat, shared resources, and announcements live in that same group — no separate folders, no separate app for "the important stuff."

Step 3

Publish a quiz

Build multiple-choice, short-answer, or mixed quizzes with deadlines and attempt limits, and assign them to one or more groups at once.

Step 4

Students take it, honestly

While the quiz is open, Peerloom quietly logs tab switches, copies, and pastes tied to that attempt — visible only to that quiz's lecturer.

Step 5

Grade and release results

Lecturers grade short-answer and essay responses directly against each submission, then choose whether students can review their graded answers afterward.

Who it's for

Two very different jobs, one shared space

For students

One place to find your course group, catch up on announcements, grab shared resources, take quizzes, and ask PeerPal AI a question at 2am before an exam.

For lecturers

Publish quizzes with real deadlines and attempt limits, see an integrity log per attempt, grade submissions in context, and export results as a proper report.

For institutions

A platform that keeps academic activity organized by course and campus, instead of scattered across personal chat apps with no institutional visibility.

FAQ

Common questions

Q

Is Peerloom free to use?

Yes — creating an account, joining groups, and using core features is free. There's no payment step in the product today.

Q

Does Peerloom replace my institution's LMS?

No. Peerloom is built for the day-to-day collaboration and lightweight assessment layer — group chat, resources, and quizzes — alongside whatever official LMS your institution already uses.

Q

What does the integrity log actually track?

Only tab switches, copy actions, and paste actions during an active quiz attempt — never your camera, microphone, screen, or activity outside the quiz. See our Privacy Policy for specifics.

Q

Can students see their answers after a quiz?

Only if the lecturer explicitly turns on review for that quiz, and only once grading is complete — it's entirely the lecturer's decision, per quiz.

Where we're headed

Peerloom today covers the core of academic group life — chat, resources, quizzes, and results. We're actively building toward richer analytics for lecturers, deeper AI-assisted study tools for students, and institution-level administration for schools running Peerloom across many courses at once.

We ship in response to what real students and lecturers tell us is missing — if there's something you wish Peerloom did, we want to hear it.
