Media & File Sharing
PeerLoom allows you to upload and share images, videos, and audio messages directly within chats. When you share media, the files are securely transmitted, stored temporarily on our servers, and processed solely to deliver them to your intended recipients and to enable real‑time communication. Media you share is encrypted in transit and stored only as long as necessary to provide the messaging functionality. You retain control over your shared files, and you may delete them at any time through the chat interface.
User-Generated Content
As a PeerLoom user, you may create, post, or transmit messages, images, videos, audio recordings, and other content ("User-Generated Content"). You are solely responsible for the content you share and for ensuring it complies with applicable laws and our Terms of Service. PeerLoom does not claim ownership over your content, but by sharing it on our platform you grant us a limited license to store, display, and deliver it for the purpose of providing our services. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates our policies or legal requirements.
AI Feature: PeerPal Assistant
PeerLoom includes an AI‑powered feature called PeerPal. When you interact with PeerPal inside chats, the assistant processes your input (text, and in some cases message context) to generate helpful, conversational responses. This processing occurs in real time and is used only to provide the AI chat functionality. PeerPal does not use your conversations for any purpose other than responding to your current query, and it does not build personal profiles outside the active chat session. No voice or image data is used by PeerPal without your explicit interaction.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information and user‑generated content only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Account data is kept while your account is active; you may request account deletion at any time. Upon deletion, we will remove or anonymize your information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain data for legal, security, or fraud prevention reasons. You can request data deletion by contacting us or using in‑app account settings.
Permissions We Use
PeerLoom requests certain device permissions to enable core features. Each permission is used only for the specific functionality described below and with your explicit consent:
- Camera: Used only when you actively capture a photo or video for sending in chats or for updating your profile picture. The camera is never accessed without your direct action.
- Microphone: Used exclusively when you record voice messages within chats. Audio recording begins only after you press and hold the voice message button, and it stops immediately when you release or cancel.
- Media (Images, Video, Audio): Access to your device’s photo library and file storage is used solely to select and share media in conversations or to save shared media to your device when you explicitly choose to download it. We never scan or collect media outside of your direct sharing actions.
- Notifications: Used to send you real‑time alerts about new messages, chat invites, and important account updates. You can manage notification preferences in your device settings or within the app at any time.
All permissions are requested at runtime, and you can revoke any permission at any time via your device settings. Revoking permissions may limit certain features but will not affect your account data.
